About Me

35+ years in ICTs | Former CEO USF Pakistan | ICT Consultant for Governments & Global Organizations. I often get invited to speak at international forums on these topics which I love doing! For those who may not be aware, USFs are created to fulfill governments’ obligation of providing ICT services in un-served (mainly rural) areas, where it is not viable for private sector Telcos.

My Journey in ICT

My lifelong mission to make technology accessible for everyone, is backed by decades of leadership and global experience.
Passion for ICT Access
I believe every person, regardless of wealth or location, should benefit from ICTs. This conviction is the core driver of my professional journey.
Founding CEO of USF Pakistan
In 2007, I built the Universal Service Fund from the ground up, deploying cellular networks, fiber optics, and broadband in unserved remote rural areas. The program became a global benchmark for universal service success.
Telecom Leadership at Siemens
As Country Head of Siemens Telecom Pakistan, I led multi-million-dollar projects, expanded revenues nearly tenfold, trained hundreds of local engineers and deployed many of them internationally.
Global Policy Advisor
As a consultant, I advise governments and regulators across Asia and Africa on ICT policy and regulation, in partnership with global organisations like ITU, USAID, World Bank, ADB, and others.
Global Exposure & Expertise
With sabbaticals at Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, Oxford, and ICC, technical and management training across Europe, plus having completed the 6-week National Security Workshop at NDU Islamabad, I bring a unique mix of global and local exposure and proven expertise.
Pakistan School on Internet Governance (PkSIG)
For the 11th year running, a dedicated team of volunteers (with me as Chairperson of the Steering Committee), organise a 4-day Pakistan School on Internet Governance (pkSIG) every year in a different city of Pakistan. Each year, upto 60 youth get the opportunity to listen and interact with local and global leaders in the field of Internet.
